Working with aN 800 sf footprint, the design of thIS Greenwich Village apartment hinged on the ability to maximize storage space and site lines to create an open anD fresh living space for a young couple. The interplay of walnut wood and white lacquer cabinetry work to create visual interest and break up the volumes throughout.
AN ENCLOSED KITCHEN WAS DEMOLISHED AND OPENED TO CONNECT TO THE MAIN LIVING SPACE, PULLING IN LIGHT AND SOUTHERN VIEWS OVER GREENWICH VILLAGE AND DOWNTOWN MANHATTAN. A BUILT-IN DESK WITH INTEGRATED WINE REFRIGERATOR MAXIMIZES FUNCTIONALITY AND STORAGE. WIRE BRUSHED OAK FLOORING COMPLEMENTS THE DARKER WALNUT TONES AND GRAY MARBLE TILE BRINGS CLASSIC LUXURY TO THE BATHROOM. A WALK-IN-CLOSET CARVED OUT OF THE OVERSIZED BEDROOM AND EXTENDED LINEN CLOSET MAXIMIZE CLOTHING AND BEDDING STORAGE.
