BROOKLYN TOWNHOUSE
DURING HER TENURE AT KEVIN KENNON ARCHITECTS, TRICIA WAS THE PROJECT aRCHITECT AND DESIGN LEAD FOR A TOWNHOUSE GUT RENOVATION IN WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN. An existing 2 family wood construction row house built around 1900, this residential design required a complete rebuild and strategic design solutions to redefine the urban row house. Using screens as a means of filtering both the light and view into the residence, large expansive fenestration is utilized to maximize the southern exposure while screening the interior activities of the inhabitants. The screen motif is brought inside the house to create an interior 3-story stair atrium - pulling the light from the roof skylight to the basement level and binding the home together. The linear repetiion is further woven through the house, utilizing a simple palette of warm walnut wood, cool white oak and white lacquer millwork throughout.
